Low Energy Constants from High Energy Theorems

چکیده
New constraints on resonance saturation in chiral perturbation theory are investigated. These constraints arise because each consistent saturation scheme must map to a representation of the full QCD chiral symmetry group. The low-energy constants of chiral perturbation theory are then related by a set of mixing angles. It is shown that vector meson dominance is a consequence of the fact that nature has chosen the lowest-dimensional nontrivial chiral representation. It is further shown that chiral symmetry places an upper bound on the mass of the lightest scalar in the hadron spectrum. PACS: 11.30.Rd; 12.38.Aw; 11.55.Jy; 11.30.Er

The leading order low energy parameters like the pion decay constant or the quark condensate are well-known from “classical” low energy theorems and experiments. It is a challenge, however, to find these parameters based exclusively on an ab-initio QCD calculation. We discuss results of a quenched lattice calculation of low energy constants using the chirally improved Dirac operator. Several la...

متن کاملEffect of Induced Dipole-Induced Dipole Potential and the Size of Colliding Particles on Ion-Quadrupolar Molecule Collision Rate Constants
Classical trajectory (Monte Carlo) calculation is used to calculate collision rate constants of ion-quadrupolar molecule interactions for the H¯+C2H2 system. The method presented here takes into account the effect of the induced dipole-induced dipole potential on ion-quadrupolar molecule collision rate constants. It is also assumed that the colliding particles have a d...
متن کاملA new low cycle fatigue lifetime prediction model for magnesium alloy based on modified plastic strain energy approach
Nowadays, the technology intends to use materials such as magnesium alloys due to their high strength to weight ratio in engine components. As usual, engine cylinder heads and blocks has made of various types of cast irons and aluminum alloys. However, magnesium alloys has physical and mechanical properties near to aluminum alloys and reduce the weight up to 40 percents. In this article, a new ...
